Hydro jetting is a plumbing and drain cleaning technique that uses high-pressure water to clear blockages and completely clean the inside of pipes. At So-Cal Hydro Jetting we service:

  • Residential and Commercial Sewer Lines
  • Main Drain Lines
  • Residential Plumbing Systems
  • Commercial Plumbing Systems
  • Grease-filled Restaurant Pipes
  • A specialized nozzle is attached to a high-pressure hose.
  • The hose is then connected to a machine that pressurizes the water (often up to 4,000 PSI or more).
  • The nozzle is inserted into the drain or sewer line, and water is blasted through the pipe.
  • The force of the water removes grease, debris, tree roots, scale, and buildup from the pipe walls.

Camera Inspections

We use cameras to see what the real plumbing problem is and plan our strategy for fixing the problem. After the hydro jetting process is done we use cameras again to make sure the results are optimal and to document the work.

Rotating Nozzles

These nozzles are predominately used for de-scaling and general cleaning to remove grease and sludge. The nozzles spin at a high speed in order to spray high pressure water in multiple directions.

Forward Jet Nozzles

These nozzles spray water forward to penetrate tough blockages and are ideal for breaking through obstructions like tree roots or hardened clogs.

Rear Jet Nozzles

These jets, as the name indicates, spray water backward. This helps the hydro jetting hose to pull itself forward into the pipe.  It also scrubs the inner walls as they retreat. These nozzles are used mainly for removing grease, soap scum, and buildup.

Chain Flail Attachments

These water jets use powerful rotating chains and are used when there’s hard buildup like scale, rust, or roots. This technique is very aggressive and not ideal for fragile pipes.

Descaling specifically targets mineral buildup, such as limescale, rust, and calcium deposits that are found inside older cast iron or metal pipes.

1. Mechanical Descaling Tools

  • Rotary de-scalers or cutters use metal chains, brushes, or cables to physically scrape the inner walls.
  • These tools are often used in combination with hydro jetting in order to remove stubborn scale.

2. Hydro Jetting with Descaling Nozzles

  • Specialized descaling nozzles deliver highly concentrated streams of water.
  • They rotate or oscillate to cut through scale without damaging the pipe.

3. Chemical Descaling (Less Common in Plumbing)

  • Uses acidic or enzymatic solutions to dissolve mineral deposits.
  • Often used in boilers and industrial systems, not usually in residential sewer lines.
